I am a Process Engineer with a BSc.(Hons) in Metallurgy.

My first career was in process plant management, ranging from the acid leaching of Cobalt through to the casting of Aluminium ingots in locations as diverse as Zambia and Wales.

I made the switch about 20 years ago from operations to engineering. Since which I have worked for Alcan Engineering (now part of Rio Tinto Alcan); Bateman Engineering and Johnson Matthey Plc.

With Alcan I worked variously for the plant owners and as a design engineer.

At Bateman, I led studies including a sand mining–HMC–slag smelter complex in Vietnam and a copper smelter in Russia. I called equipment tenders for a Mongolian concentrator; was RPEQ approver on comminution and flotation plant PFD’s; commissioned plant in China and made technical sales visits to Ukraine and Lithuania.

Johnson Matthey engaged me on contract to Project Manager the design and delivery of a new plant installation at their North London metal recovery plant.

I am a member of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy [MAusIMM with AusIMM].

I am also a Project Management Professional [PMP with the Project Management Institute] and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland [RPEQ].
